Canada is about to get a giant birthday present. The world’s longest recreational trail (a trail used for fun) will open in time for Canada’s 150th birthday on July 1, 2017.

The Great Trail will have a whopping 15,000 miles of paths. It will stretch from Canada’s east coast to its west coast, and through all 13 provinces and territories. People will be able to hike, bike, and ski on the trail. “The purpose of the trail is to connect and unify Canadians to help them celebrate the natural beauty of their country,” says trail spokesperson Christina Kozakiewicz.
