Moving a heavy suitcase can be a big drag. That’s why Jeffrey Schnapp created a robotic suitcase that can move itself!

The smart suitcase, called Gita, is made by the Italian company Piaggio. With two big wheels, it rolls behind you, following you like a pet. It holds up to 40 pounds—as much as two stuffed grocery bags.

The suitcase works by detecting a sensor in a belt worn by its owner. If you’re in a hurry, Gita can hustle too—up to a zippy 22 miles per hour.

Piaggio is currently testing Gita, and it plans to put the luggage bots on sale this year.
