When Bishop Curry saw a problem, he came up with a way to fix it. The 11-year-old from Texas designed a smart fan that could help save lives. Called the Oasis, it keeps babies and toddlers cool if they’re in danger from being in a hot car.

When it’s hot outside, the inside of a car can heat up fast. This is dangerous for anyone sitting inside, especially young children.

Bishop’s fan uses GPS and sensors to detect whether a child is alone in a hot car. If a child is detected, Oasis blows cool air on him or her. It also alerts the child’s parents and emergency workers.
