Visiting an amusement park can be a lot of fun. Yet it can be stressful too. The loud noises, big crowds, and fast-moving rides can feel overwhelming to some people.
This can be especially true for people with autism, a condition that affects the development of language and social skills.

An amusement park called Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, wants kids with autism to feel welcome. It’s the nation’s first theme park to become a Certified Autism Center.
The park has quiet rooms and noise-canceling headphones for those who need a break. Employees are trained to help people with autism feel comfortable. And visitors can meet Julia, a Sesame Street character with autism.
