Bus riders in the Netherlands might hear a buzz as they wait for the bus. That’s because in the Dutch city of Utrecht, bee gardens now grow on top of 316 bus stop roofs. They’re mainly made up of small yellow flowers called sedum plants. These plants provide honeybees with a safe habitat and a source of food.

Planting bee-friendly gardens is one way to support bees. The green bus stops also capture fine dust from the air, which improves air quality for everyone.
